Microwave Leakage Testing
Microwaves can leak as time goes on. We can test your microwaves for leakage on site with our specialist equipment. We look for radiation leakage, check the power output and examine any external damage. We recommend you have all workplace microwaves tested for leakage at least once a year. Keep your staff and workplace safe.
We offer a microwave leakage testing service to compliment out Portable Appliance Testing. Microwave leakage testing can be carried out at the same time as the Portable Appliances or at a separate time to suit.
- As microwaves are used usually on a daily basis, after a period of time, the door seals can become faulty causing microwave leakage levels to exceed the recommended limit.
- We use the latest microwave leakage detection units to check the radiation levels are acceptable as well as checking the door seals to make sure that there is no damage.
- We can also check the power output to make sure the microwave is operating properly so food and drink are cooked throughout.
What Tests Are Completed?
The appliance undergoes a thorough safety inspection to identify any visible physical damage, ensuring compliance with AS/NZS 3760:2022 and AS/NZS 60335.2.25:2020 standards, which specifically address safety requirements for microwave ovens, including combination models.
Our skilled technicians then conduct an on-site Radiation Leakage Inspection for your microwave oven, following the guidelines outlined in AS/NZS 60335.2.25:2020. This involves using an advanced Microwave Radiation Leakage Detector to measure radiation levels surrounding the oven, ensuring they fall within the limits specified by the standard. It's essential to note that standard domestic radiation leakage detectors do not meet Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) specifications; therefore, our technicians exclusively use specialised equipment.
Our technicians perform an electrical safety test in line with AS/NZS 3760:2022 requirements. Upon successful completion of the tests, a certification label conforming to AS/NZS 60335.2.25:2020, indicating compliance with radiation and power level standards, is securely affixed to the microwave's front door for clear visibility, signifying its safety for use. A compliance tag detailing adherence to AS/NZS 3760:2022 is attached to the power lead.
